Silvia Paizan - Notebooks

I’ve been collecting old book covers from the dump for months now. I wish I could keep them all, but that’s called hoarding.

Everything we do is a response to something: a lack, an overflow, a restlessness, a need for textures, something tactile.
These notebooks are my quiet answer to too much trash and too much information. Making them is how I stay present when everything else demands speed or volume. They won’t solve our waste problem, but they’re a slow, underwhelming revolution for a tired brain and body.

Every page has been touched by hand at least 1, 2, 3, 4 times:
(1) bent,
(2) counted into stacks of six or seven,
(3) pressed flat and punched through,
(4) stitched into a braid that keeps everything together and lets each spread open flat, comfortably.

This is my invitation to write a different story about what you keep, what you notice, what you let go.
To slow down.
To write by hand.
To think at the speed your hand can move.
